Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN)

UI/UX, Website Design, Custom Iconography

Spearheaded by the World Health Organization (WHO) and a variety of other founding institutions, the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN) is an independent, voluntary, member-driven forum intent on protecting humans from the avoidable health risks associated with extreme heat in the changing climate. In order to enhance engagement with its key audiences and to assist with the marketing of its programs, events, and environmental efforts, a fresh and intuitive website redesign was required.

01. The Strategy

To begin, a sitemap was created to define the new structure and hierarchy of the site. The main navigation was updated and restructured to create a more streamlined flow and user experience.

Next, in-depth wireframes were created to highlight important interface elements and serve as the blueprint of the page structure/layout. This helped provide GHHIN with a clear idea of the functional components of the UI before jumping into the design phase.

02. The Design

With the sitemap and wireframes completed to help pave the way for the final chapter, a bright, modern and fresh UI (including custom iconography and a robust Pattern Library) was designed to spotlight GHHIN’s environmental efforts and increase the marketing of its programs and events.

03. The Pattern Library

Lastly, an incredibly robust pattern library was designed in order to ensure consistent UI, ease of maintenance, and the ability to facilitate the building and ease of reuse of GHHIN’s core functional and design components over time.
